The City Council of Molina de Segura has approved the public call, under competitive competition, for grants to be granted, during the year 2018, in the field of promotion and social insertion programs, to non-profit entities that operate in the municipality , according to the Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángel Navarro García.
As a novelty, this year the budget item is increased by 5,000 euros, with a total of 25,000 euros.
The objective of this call is to regulate the granting of subsidies referred to spending programs in the field of promotion and social insertion or equivalents, under competitive concurrency, for the financing of expenses of a current nature that have as their object the realization of projects and activities whose purposes are included in the call and appear reflected in the statutes of each entity.
The associations and institutions, legally constituted, that meet the following requirements may be beneficiaries of the subsidies: address in Molina de Segura;
lack of profit motive;
and stable and effective operation in the municipality of Molina de Segura.
Those entities that during the financial year may be holders of a nominative grant, a direct concession or the signing of a collaboration agreement in social matters with the Molina de Segura Town Council will not be eligible for the subsidies regulated in this call. .
According to Ángel Navarro, "the City Council intends to cover the care and prevention of social needs and problems, promoting social sensitivity, solidarity and cooperation initiatives by citizens of Molina de Segura through local associations, contributing in this way to the cohesion of the citizen collaboration against situations of exclusion and social discrimination ".
This call was initiated for the first time in 2017 and has continued in 2018 with an increase of the budget line of 5,000 euros, reaching the current figure of 25,000 euros.
Through the subsidized projects in 2017, 586 people were attended, whose actions complement the activity of the municipal social services.
"With this call is established an economic funding for entities that are not within the agreement circuit, so that it is possible to provide financial support to any entity in the municipality provided it meets established requirements," says the Councilor for Social Welfare.
"The call establishes a public scale that will be used for the technical proposal, which guarantees greater transparency and technical management.The projects that will be subsidized will carry out actions with social groups, and always complementing and collaborating with the resources of the Department of Social Welfare" .
