The student Tomás Arévalo, of the sixth year of Primary Education of the San Pablo CEU school in Molina de Segura, will represent the Region of Murcia in the final of the contest 'What is a king for you?', After winning the regional phase of the contest .
In this edition, 1,609 works from 158 schools were presented.
Of the total, 40 schoolchildren from 17 centers were selected as finalists of the regional phase, whose work was presented today at the Santa Joaquina de Vedruna School in Murcia.
In this same place, the prizes and diplomas were given to the winners and one of them was selected by the national jury to attend the real audience.
This national contest is aimed at students from third to sixth grade of Primary and first and second of ESO, and up to 18 years in the modality of Special Education, educational centers throughout Spain.
The objective of this contest is "to encourage the youngest to make first contact with the history of the crown and its role in the current Spanish society as an institution for concord, coexistence, pluralism and solidarity", as highlighted by the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Adela Martínez-Cachá, after congratulating the winner and congratulating the organizers of the contest.
The novelty of this year is that young students can participate in digital format, in addition to analog, as it has been until now. The jury makes a selection of the finalists in each autonomous community, then a winning job is chosen in each of them, that passes to the final phase.
The Spanish Institutional Foundation (FIES) is responsible for conducting the autonomic phase of the contest.
