The Department of Culture of the City of Molina de Segura, in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, has organized a program of events to commemorate the International Museum Day 2018, which is held on May 18.
The program was presented at a press conference on Wednesday, May 16, by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, the Councilor for Culture, Pedro Jesus Martinez Baños, and the Councilor for Tourism, Andrés Martínez Cervantes.
The scheduled activities will take place between May 17 and 24.
In this year's edition, the motto chosen by the International Council of Museums (ICOM), the organism in charge of the celebration, is hyperconnected Museums.
New approaches, new audiences.
In an increasingly connected world, it is impossible to understand the role of museums without taking into account all the connections they establish.
Museums must be inherent parts of local communities, of their cultural landscape.
New technologies allow museums to reach beyond their usual audience.
It is necessary to present the collections in an innovative way as a way to attract a new audience more related to new technologies.
The program begins on Thursday, May 17 with the exhibition, curated by José Luna Arnaldos, Portraits of Francisco Luna Giménez.
Homage to Posthumous Title.
The opening ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 17, at 7:00 pm, at the Carlos Soriano Ethnographic Museum in El Llano de Molina, entertained by the musical group Crescendo.
The exhibition can be visited until June 16.
On Friday, May 18, at 6:00 p.m., in one of the MUDEM rooms, a theatrical piece entitled "Tales from the Wall" will be performed, whose author and director is Vicente de Ramón Perea, who has been performing dramatized visits at the MUDEM. So much acceptance are having.
On Saturday, May 19, at 6:00 pm, there will be a THEATRALIZED VISIT to the MUDEM, where the Cid will tell his avatars and will teach the visitors the museum.

For its part, on Sunday, May 20, at the Museo del Horno del Concejo, within the ¡Museums Visítanos! Program, a cookie workshop will be held.
The workshop schedule is from 11.30 am to 1.30 pm and is aimed at the family audience.

On May 21 and 22, school workshops will be held at the Carlos Soriano Ethnographic Museum.
The CEIP La Purísima de El Llano de Molina collaborates in the activity.
On Thursday, May 24, at 12:00 noon, the inauguration of the room dedicated to MUDEM at the Meteorito de Molina de Segura will take place.
