The opening ceremony of the Occupational Center of Barrio de Fátima de Molina de Segura, for the Association for Social Integration of Disabled Persons (TEDIS) and Municipal Children, was held Friday May 7.
Attended by the Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, the Delegate of the Government in the Autonomous Community of Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, Councillor of Social Welfare, Worship Molina Lopez, and the President of TEDIS, Pilar Gallego García.
The center is located at Calle Canarias, next to the National Police Headquarters, at the premises of the old school in the Barrio de Fátima.
On the ground floor of the building is TEDIS Occupational Center, an association created at the initiative of a group of parents of children with disabilities interested in finding an answer to the many problems that arise mainly from the completion of compulsory education.
The center gives these people a training appropriate to their abilities, so that people with opportunities to feel useful to the society, supporting the acceptance of their limitations.
The primary objective of the Occupational Center is to improve quality of life of persons with disabilities, promoting the maximum development of their individual capabilities and encouraging the full integration into family, social and labor.
To achieve this goal, we work through various workshops, mainly personal autonomy, social skills and general knowledge and expression.
Today you have the following workshops: Workshop on Social Skills, General Knowledge Workshop and Expression, Environmental Awareness Workshop, Workshop Kitchen, Cleaning Workshop, Workshop Hobbies and Leisure, Horticulture and Gardening Workshop, Workshop Computer, and ceramic workshop.
On the first floor of the building is situated the Municipal Children, which develops an educational intervention with children and adolescents in the municipality.
Is a program that offers space intentionally designed to allow recreational experiences with positive outcomes for children, family and community.
Its main objective is to create a space for child development through play and participation in recreational activities / education.
Surge in addition, to meet and play group for children and girls, who are accompanied by educators.
In turn, lends support to schools and families in the child's homework, finding a supportive and in many cases, the child will not find at home, and on the other hand, wants all children internalize values of coexistence to full personal and social development.
Finally, from a field preventive actions are carried out health education.
The toy library program develops in the town of Molina de Segura for over 15 years, with educational support for all children and their families.
Some of their many activities include tutoring, personalized follow-up in schools and families, sports, cultural visits in the town and surrounding areas (library, cinema, museums, etc..), And other creative development activities such as crafts, drama, group cohesion activities, excursions, camps, drug prevention workshops, etc.
The rehabilitation of the building works have meant an investment of 190,488.18 euros, funded through the Local Investment Fund for Employment 2009 and have been made by the company PAMAI, SL
